Radiant Industries is an El Segundo, CA-based startup developing Kaleidos, a portable, containerized nuclear microreactor. Portable nuclear power with rapid deploy capability can replace diesel generators used today to provide critical asset support for hospitals, datacenters, and military bases or to power microgrids at remote sites. Radiant’s unique yet practical approach to nuclear development utilizes modern software engineering to rapidly achieve safe, factory-constructable microreactors leveraging existing, well-qualified materials. Radiant is on a fast track to demonstrate the first fueled operation of a new commercial nuclear reactor design, just four years from now.
Radiant is seeking a highly motivated individual for an opportunity to help build a transformational team in fast-paced start up environment. Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, the candidate will be responsible for establishing our people practices, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, development, compensation and benefits.
Responsibilities & Duties
Work with area leaders to develop hiring plan that creates a competitive advantage
Strategize for planned company growth – Identify recruiting, HR, compensation, benefits, and any support roles as they become full time internal staffing needs
Manage full cycle recruiting process ensuring a smooth and positive candidate experience for both experienced and entry level hires
Support each team leader and discuss headcount, new requisitions, hiring strategy, and/or interview feedback
Facilitate the interview process – for both engineering and non-engineering roles—from screening to selection and be able to synthesize why candidates will help us meet our ambitious goals
Own and develop the onboarding process including initiating background checks, completing reference checks, negotiating offer packages including extending offer letters, and issuing new hire paperwork
Develop and stand-up a best-in-class internship program creating a pipeline of talented future engineers
Ensure our workforce is diverse and inclusive across many facets
Grow the talent development team to support future company growth
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or 3+ years of professional experience as a technical recruiter in lieu of a degree
6+ years of experience as a people leader in one of the following: recruiting, talent management, human resources, or people operations
Ability to relocate to Radiant’s office in El Segundo, CA (Greater Los Angeles Area).

Experience with startups, recruiting and HR strategies for growth, desire and vision to build the entire company from the series A onward
Experience building inclusive and diverse teams
Technical recruiting experience for the relevant engineering teams
Experience with full life cycle recruiting (screening candidates, facilitating interviews and extending offers)
Demonstrated expertise in non-standard recruiting methods: cold calling candidates and companies, organizing and executing ad hoc networking events, identifying industry experts and finding unique methods to engage with them, creating unique targeted sourcing campaigns, etc.
Comfortable interfacing directly with hiring managers including senior technical leaders
